Call of Duty is full of memorable maps that many players have spent hundreds of hours exploring. Some of these are entirely made up whereas others are based on actual locations. One CoD fan has found the Breenbergh Hotel map from Modern Warfare II in real life and has shared a video of themselves exploring the site, including all the spots players will recognise from the game.

Breenbergh Hotel was an all-new map in 2022’s Modern Warfare II. As the name suggests, the map is set inside a luxury hotel. It has an outside area, a lobby, kitchens, and more. It is also one of the better maps in that game’s multiplayer mode.

Streamer and YouTuber Khoslaa visited the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She shared her experience of exploring the hotel on TikTok.

From her footage, it’s easy to see that the real-life hotel was clearly the inspiration for the Breenbergh Hotel map in MWII. Much of it is entirely recreated in the game.

“It looks the same,” she says in the video. “That’s the kitchen!… I’ve shot many in there.”

Khoslaa explains that the hotel is “quite out of the city centre in Amsterdam.” However, she “really wanted to see it” as she “played CoD Modern Warfare 2 the most”.

She explains that the outside area of the hotel “looked the exact same… Even the front of the hotel looks the exact same as well.” In addition, she said that exploring Amsterdam was cool because the Vondel Warzone map is based off of the city.

In summary, Khoslaa says that “it was a pretty good replica of the actual map.”

Of course, the map is actually the replica not the other way round. The Conservatorium Hotel wasn’t built to mimic a multiplayer map from Call of Duty.

Back when Modern Warfare II launched in 2022, the Conservatorium’s manager, Roy Tomassen, spoke to Dutch newspaper de Volksrant and voiced the hotel management team’s displeasure about its appearance in the game.

“We have taken note of the fact that the Conservatorium Hotel is undesirably the scene of the new Call of Duty,” he said. “More generally, we don’t support games that seem to encourage the use of violence. The game in no way reflects our core values and we regret our apparent and unwanted involvement.”

Rumours have since circulated that the hotel sued Activision for its inclusion in the game; however, this doesn’t appear to have happened.

Nevertheless, if you fancy yourself a Call of Duty inspired getaway, the Breenbergh Hotel looks to be the perfect place for you.
