This God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla guide explains how to unlock Sanctuary Barriers.

God of War: Ragnarok: Valhalla is a brand new free DLC for last year’s critically-acclaimed game. Announced out of nowhere at The Game Awards 2023, many assumed it would just be a small update.

However, it’s actually packed full of content and serves as a bona fide epilogue for Ragnarok. Valhalla blends the frenetic combat of God of War with brand new roguelike elements. In the DLC, Kratos travels to Valhalla with Mimir to overcome a mysterious challenge.

Kratos must run a repeating gauntlet that forces him to master his mind and abilities, all while facing up to his past. Early on in Valhalla, Mimir and Kratos encounter Sanctuary Barriers. These barriers are found throughout Valhalla and block access to loot chests.

Mimir informs Kratos that they are unable to get past the barriers and he offers no solution for unlocking them. So, with that being said, how exactly do you unlock the Sanctuary Barriers in God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla?
