GTA 6 Locations and Main Characters Revealed in Surprise Leak

It feels like we’ve been speculating about Grand Theft Auto VI forever. And there have been plenty of rumours and supposed leaks over the years to keep fans guessing. But Rockstar Games has been incredibly tight-lipped about the sequel. They have simply confirmed it’s being made and nothing more.

However, perhaps the biggest leak to date has potentially revealed key information about GTA 6, including locations and main characters. It’s safe to say that if these rumours turn out to be true, it will be well worth the wait.

GTA 6 locations and time period

The latest GTA 6 news comes from Rockstar insider @Matheusbr9895_. They report that the next Grand Theft Auto will feature five different locations.

The game’s prologue will reportedly take place in Brazil. The main portion of GTA 6 will be set in Cuba, Colombia, Vice City and Carcer City.

If Carcer City sounds familiar, that’s because it was the setting of Manhunt – the highly controversial and long-dormant Rockstar game. Carcer City has been referenced numerous times in multiple GTA games before. So using it as a main location in GTA 6 sounds totally plausible.

As for Grand Theft Auto 6‘s time period, it will supposedly be set in (or around) the present day with 2023 and 2024 being likely.

The game will feature an open-world as expected, but also introduce destructible environments. If that part is accurate, we really can’t wait to get our hands on it!

GTA 6 main characters and story

The new leak also sheds light on GTA 6‘s main characters and story. And it sounds very ambitious.

The primary focus will be the cartel and military – as the game’s locations suggest. Grand Theft Auto VI‘s two main characters are reportedly twin siblings – brother and sister – who were split up after their mother and father were killed by the cartel. This bit may form part of the game’s prologue.

Apparently, the siblings will end up on different sides of the law and, ultimately, come up against each other. The brother is a DEA agent working to bring down the cartel, while his sister is a cartel hitwoman. Talk about a sibling rivalry, huh?

Release date

All of this sure sounds exciting. But don’t get too hyped just yet. GTA 6 is still a long way off if these latest rumours are to be believed. Rockstar is reportedly targeting 2024 for GTA 6‘s release.
