Helldivers 2 has arrived on PS5 and PC and has been a surprise hit. It’s all over social media and players across both platforms have been keen to check it out.

An overwhelming influx of players following the game’s launch initially led to server problems. With these issues now mostly resolved, Helldivers 2 is far easier to access.

That means players can now better work together to fight the galactic war – even between platforms. But how exactly does crossplay work in Helldivers 2?

Is Helldivers 2 crossplay?

Yes – Helldivers 2 does feature crossplay between PS5 and PC. That means PS5 and PC players can join each other’s squads and missions.

Progression of the galactic war is also the same between platforms, so players will always be focused on the same overarching objectives whether they play on PS5 or PC.

For now, Xbox players are not able to join in on the fun as the game is currently unavailable for that platform. Fans are actively campaigning for an Xbox version of Helldivers 2, but it remains to be seen if it’ll ever be released.

How to enable or disable crossplay in Helldivers 2

To enable or disable crossplay in Helldivers 2, press the Options/ESC button and go to the “Options” tab. Select “Crossplay” and switch it to “On” or “Off” depending on which setting you want to use.

As many gamers will know, it is commonplace for players to switch crossplay off in certain games.

For example, in Call of Duty, many console players choose to disable the feature due to the belief that cheating is prevalent on PC.

However, given that Helldivers 2 is a PvE game with no PvP element whatsoever, there is little reason to disable crossplay.
