A controversial Lethal Company “thicc female” mod has been downloaded almost 250,000 times after clips of it went viral on TikTok.

Interested players then went to Thunderstore (a mod database) to install the mod for themselves, for what are sure to be entirely wholesome reasons.

It has now been downloaded nearly a quarter-of-a-million times since it was first uploaded on 20 December last year.

To use the Lethal Company female mod, players are also required to download the “ModelReplacementAPI” mod from BunyaPineTree which “simplifies character model replacement for modders”.

The co-op survival horror game released on 23 October and saw near-instant success, shooting to the top of the official best sellers charts where it has remained for 10 consecutive weeks. It is currently the fourth best-selling game on Steam.

Lethal Company has received highly positive reviews from players. It has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam out of more than 210,000 reviews.

In the game, players team up with friends and are employed by “The Company” to collect scrap (dubbed “worthless garbage” in the game’s trailer) from abandoned, industrialised moons. Along the way, players encounter traps, hazards, and monsters.

This Lethal Company female asset replacement mod – “ThiccCompanyModelReplacement” – reskins the standard orange-jumpsuit clad character model by swapping it with a buxom female version.

In response to a clip of the mod, one TikTok user wrote: “murphys law but for mainstream video games”, implying that, while wrong, such a mod for Lethal Company was inevitable. It’s hard to disagree.
