This Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection guide explains how to get the M9 in the Plant chapter of MGS2.

With the highly anticipated (if somewhat underwhelming) release of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, fans of the series will be diving back into these bonafide stealth classics.

While many will undoubtedly remember key parts of the games, some of the finer details will be long forgotten. During my recent play through of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, I was keen to get my hands on the tranquilliser pistol once I’d reached the Plant chapter.

Raiden receives the SOCOM from Iroquois Pliskin early on. However, he lacks a non-lethal weapon. Anyone who has played the game before will know that the M9 is available during Raiden’s portion of MGS2. But if, like me, you couldn’t recall how to get it, I’m pleased to say it isn’t too complicated. Check out the steps below.

How to get the M9 in the Plant chapter (Metal Gear Solid 2)

This is how to get the M9 in the Plant chapter of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty:

The M9 can be found on the south side of the top floor in the Strut F Warehouse. It is inside the room on the right hand side behind some crates.

The M9 is inside this room.

The room has no security level, meaning you don’t need a specific security card to enter. Therefore, it can be found and collected as soon as you reach Strut F.

Once you have the M9, you can use it to tranquillise enemy soldiers and defeat bosses non-lethally.
