MW3 Zombies: How to beat the Stormcaller boss and location

This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III guide explains how to beat the Stormcaller boss in Zombies and where to find it.

MW3 Zombies, or MWZ, is different from the usual Call of Duty Zombies we’re used to. Instead of just surviving rounds, this game focuses more on missions and finding interesting loot.

In MWZ, the story happens over three acts, each with its own levels and missions. Players must explore Urzikstan and finish various different tasks to progress.

Some missions are straightforward and one-dimensional. Others need players to hunt for special items, creatures, or bosses.

One boss, the Stormcaller, must be defeated for Closing Time, an Act III Tier 4 mission. Unlike most bosses in MWZ, the Stormcaller is incredibly difficult to beat and requires careful preparations ahead of time.

So, let’s go over how to beat the Stormcaller boss and where to find it.

Stormcaller location in MW3 Zombies

The Stormcaller is located inside the Aether Storm. The storm can be identified by the purple biohazard symbol and circle.

The Aether Storm circle can spawn anywhere on the map, so you will need to look for it before setting off to fight the Stormcaller.

How to beat the Stormcaller

As mentioned, the Stormcaller boss is incredibly difficult to defeat. This is because it is a buffed version of the Disciple special zombie which can drain the health of players and zombies to restore its own. It can also summon hordes of the undead to aid it in battle.

This is how to beat the Stormcaller in MW3 Zombies:

1. Before tackling the Closing Time mission, complete Hold Out (this is also in Act III Tier 4) and acquire the Wunderwaffe DG-2 plans. This will allow you to craft the Wunderwaffe wonder weapon before fighting the Stormcaller – at least one squad member with the Wunderwaffe is recommended for crowd control on the boss’s support zombies.
2. Equip the Healing Aura or Aether Shroud field upgrades. This is essential for reviving downed teammates in the fight. Decoy Grenades are also helpful.
3. After loading in, check where the Aether Storm has spawned. If it is anywhere other than the Level I difficulty (Grey) zone, exfil and restart. This is because the Aether Storm levels up zombies by one level. This means that if the Aether Storm is located in the Orange zone, the Stormcaller’s zombies will be Level III difficulty making them incredibly hard.
4. Use/acquire Juggernog, Stamin-Up, Quick Revive, Dead Shot, and Speed Cola. This will give you a serious edge in the fight against the Stormcaller.
5. Acquire a Legendary (Orange) weapon by using a Legendary Aether Tool or by purchasing one from a wall in the Level III (Red) zone. To do this, complete a couple of simple missions in the Grey zone to get $5000 and then quickly drive in, buy a weapon, and drive out.
6. Pack-a-punch your Legendary weapon and/or Wunderwaffe to Level II or III. If you have Aetherium Crystals in your stash, this is a great time to use them.
7. Get a Gas Mask.
8. Attack from a distance so that the Stormcaller cannot heal from you. If it does, shoot at its arm to stop the attack.
9. Have the player with the Wunderwaffe focus on killing the Stormcaller’s support zombies. He can use them to heal.
10. Shoot at its head – A LOT!

Following these steps will make beating the Stormcaller as easy as possible; however, be aware that it is the most difficult boss in MW3 Zombies.
