Housemarque, the developer of the frankly fantastic Returnal, are teasing something for today.

Yesterday, on their official X page, the studio shared an image of what appears to be a woman’s eyes reflected in a broken mirror. The words “tomorrow” appear to the right.

While it’s unclear what exactly Housemarque are teasing, 30 April marks three years since the release of Returnal.

Since its exclusive debut on PS5 to strong reviews, Housemarque has been acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment and has become part of PlayStation Studios, joining the likes of Guerrilla Games, Naughty Dog, and Santa Monica Studio.

What’s more, Returnal has also ventured over to PC as part of Sony’s broader push to expand the player base of their games by releasing them on Steam.

The tease from Housemarque could be something like new DLC for Returnal or it could be a full-blown sequel. Personally, I’m hoping for the latter. Returnal is probably my favourite PS5 game and I’d love to see what Housemarque could do with a sequel.

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long because we’ll find out whatever it is later on today. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.
