This Stray guide explains how to get past first area of the game.

Stray is finally here after months of anticipation. And it hasn’t disappointed.

The new game from BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive delivers a puzzle packed adventure where you control a cat on his mission to reunite with his family.

He joins up with robot drone B-12 and the two must work together to open a sealed city and save its robot inhabitants.

Stray offers everything you could want from a game where you play as a cat. Run, jump, scratch – it’s all here. And it’s great fun.

The cat’s adventure in Stray involves solving puzzles every step of the way. Some are easy while others can leave you stuck and testing the limits of your brain power.

Right at the beginning of the game, the cat and his feline family are taking shelter in an old tunnel. Although exactly what you need to do to get past it isn’t immediately clear.

As mentioned, the game begins in an old tunnel with the cat and his family. It’s a heartwarming scene and sets the tone for the whole game.

However, the game doesn’t tell you what you need to do to. So, as you’re busy getting acquainted with the controls, you might end up feeling stuck before you’ve even gotten started.

This is how to get past the first area in Stray: Interact (Triangle on PS4/PS5) with all the cats. The other cats will then curl up on flattened box. Walk over and interact with the box to sleep next to them.

Approach the other cats and interact with them.

And there you have it! When the cat wakes up, time will have passed and you can move forward with the game.
