Tekken 8: When is Eddy Gordo’s release date?

Eddy Gordo in Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 is the best game of the whole series – we’re confident of that. With a stacked roster of 32 characters, there’s plenty of fighters to choose from. And we already know Eddy Gordo will be Season 1’s first DLC character – but when is his release date?

Eddy is a staple fighter in the Tekken series and a long-time fan favourite. The Brazilian capoeira master first debuted in the series in Tekken 3.

He has been included in every Tekken game since. However, although playable in Tekken 4, he was not canonically involved in that game’s King of Iron Fist Tournament.

Instead he was replaced by Christie Monteiro, who used his move set. He fully returned in Tekken 5, but was curiously absent from Tekken 8.

As such, fans were relieved when he was confirmed as the game’s first DLC character. We’ve already seen him in action, too, facing off against Nina Williams.

But when is he set to arrive in Tekken 8?

Eddy Gordo release date in Tekken 8

Bandai Namco has confirmed that Eddy Gordo will be released in Spring 2024 as part of Tekken 8‘s first season.

An exact release date for him has not been confirmed, however fans can expect Eddy to arrive in Tekken 8 between late-March and late-June when Season 1 begins.

While Eddy will retain his signature fighting style and moves, he has been redesigned somewhat. Much like the other fighters in the latest Tekken, Eddy is more muscular and wears a more vibrant and outlandish outfit.

Of course, we will be sure to keep you updated once we learn more about Season 1 and Eddy’s debut in Tekken 8. Until then, we still have the announcement of three more Season 1 fighters to look forward to.
