This guide explains how to use photo mode in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen.

The long wait is over and fans can finally play an enhanced version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Witcher 3 next-gen update arrived on 14 December and now players are getting stuck in.

In case you’ve been living under a rock since 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the acclaimed action role-playing game from Polish developer CD Projekt Red.

It made CD Projekt Red arguably the most lauded video game developer in the industry. Unfortunately, all of this goodwill vanished following the calamitous release of Cyberpunk 2077.

But there’s no doubt the company has been working hard to resurrect its reputation. Following numerous updates, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally in a satisfactory state. CD Projekt even announced a new expansion – Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty – at The Game Awards.

And the good work has carried over to The Witcher 3, too. Those who have already played The Witcher 3‘s next-gen update are calling it a worthy re-release with lots of improvements over the original version.

Probably the most noticeable improvement is in the visuals and graphical fidelity. The Witcher 3 was already a gorgeous looking game. But thanks to the next-gen upgrade, it looks better than ever. And best of all, CD Projekt Red have bundled in a new photo mode so players can make the most of the enhanced graphics.

When you play The Witcher 3 next-gen for the first time, it doesn’t explicitly say how to use photo mode. So, let’s go over how to use photo mode in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen.

Photo modes are becoming increasingly popular and are something most gamers have come to expect in new games.

Adding in photo mode allows players to get the most out of the enhanced visuals in The Witcher 3 next-gen upgrade. But getting started can be somewhat confusing.

Thankfully, it’s super simple. This makes it really easy for you to flick in and out of photo mode whenever you have a cool action shot or a jaw-dropping piece of scenery to snap.

This is how to use photo mode in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen upgrade: To enter photo mode, simply press in both analogue sticks at the same time – that is L3+R3 on PS5, and LS+RS on Xbox.

Once you’re in photo mode, simply compose your picture using the various different settings available. When you’re ready, press in the right stick (R3/RS) to hide the UI. Finally, use the Create or Share button to snap your photo.

After your photo has been saved, go to your console’s Media Gallery to share it or copy it to a USB stick for transfer and further editing.
