Ghostwire: Tokyo is here – and it’s one of the most enigmatic games in recent memory. It combines the action of Deathloop with the creepiness of Silent Hill, making for an exciting and spooky experience. The game takes place in Tokyo, Japan and was developed by Japanese studio Tango Gameworks. To pay homage to its setting and roots, Ghostwire: Tokyo‘s audio language defaults to Japanese. It makes the game’s world and narrative all the more immersive – but there are reasons why you might want to play in English. This is how to change audio language in Ghostwire: Tokyo

How To Change Audio Language in Ghostwire: Tokyo

The audio language affects all cutscenes and gameplay. Usually, in-game audio language matches the player’s region – but that isn’t the case for Ghostwire: Tokyo. It was clearly intended to be played in Japanese to compliment its setting. However, the inclusion of KK (a spirit guide of sorts) who speaks to you as you play, complicates matters. Unless you’re an excellent multitasker, reading subtitles and battling enemies makes for a difficult juggling act.

This is how to change audio language in Ghostwire: Tokyo. From the main menu, go to Options. In the “Game” tab, select your desired audio language using the left and right buttons. Finally, press Triangle to save your choice.

This action can only be completed from the title menu. So, if you’re in game, you need to quit out and go back.

You will now be able to experience Ghostwire: Tokyo in your desired language. Thankfully, the English voice acting is solid and doesn’t break immersion. Dodgy lip-sync isn’t a noticeable issue, either. So, for those wanting to play in English instead of Japanese, you’re in luck. It is possible to switch languages and enjoy Ghostwire: Tokyo.
