God of War Ragnarok: How To Get To The Door – The Applecore

Kratos and Atreus in God of War Ragnarok

This guide explains how to get to the door in The Applecore in God of War Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok is the sequel to 2018’s acclaimed God of War reboot. After four years, it’s safe to say fans are relishing the chance to jump back into Kratos’ god-sized shoes.

Despite delays and a release on the PS4 that prompted concerns, God of War Ragnarok has launched to astonishingly strong reviews. With ten-out-of-tens abound, it’s clear the game is a standout title for Sony and a worthy successor to the 2018 title.

In the new sequel, we rejoin Kratos and Atreus as they journey to stop the cataclysmic Ragnarok and learn more about the latter’s true identity as the god Loki.

Along the way the father and son duo join forces with some old friends and come up against new, dangerous foes like Thor and Odin.

However, after four years, it can be difficult to remember the story of the previous game and who everyone is.

The same goes for God of War Ragnarok‘s gameplay, too.

Despite sinking tens of hours into the last game, it’s only natural to forget how things work in this follow-up. Be it in combat, navigation, skills, or collectibles.

Like the first game, God of War Ragnarok requires you to solve puzzles in order to progress.

When you reach The Applecore, you come across puzzles involving waterwheels and chutes that need to be solved to get to doors to the next area.

In fact, there are two of these puzzles – so, two doors. And while both are similar, they require different solutions.

So, let’s go over how to get to the doors in The Applecore in God of War Ragnarok

But, wait – there’s more!

Soon after progressing through the first door, you will come across a second puzzle you need to complete.

Freeze the water next to the right wheel. Then press Square to instruct Atreus to turn the wheel on the left. This sends rocks down the chute which will become stuck on the ice.

Recall the axe then use it to freeze the water on the chute on the right just above the wheel. This will raise the grapple point, use it to swing across.

Use the axe to create a blockage
Clear the blockage using Atreus’ Sonic Arrows.

Finally, use Atreus’ arrows to clear the blockage you created in the chute, this will move the platform to the door.
