This Helldivers 2 guide explains how to destroy fuel silos.

It’s safe to say that Helldivers 2 has been a surprise hit. It was largely ignored prior to release on PS5 and PC. But players have flocked to it for its epic co-op missions across the galaxy.

In the battle against the Automatons, one mission that players can complete requires you to destroy fuel silos used by the blood-thirsty robots.

While that sounds simple enough, exactly how you do this can be confusing. That’s because it isn’t as simple as just shooting the silo or throwing a grenade at it. You might not even know what the silo looks like.

In the steps below, we explain what the fuel silos look like and how to destroy them.

What is a fuel silo in Helldivers 2?

The fuel silos in Helldivers 2 are large cylindrical towers with glowing red vents on the exterior. See the screenshot below.

Once you’ve found the fuel silo, the next step is to blow it up.

How to destroy fuel silos in Helldivers 2

To destroy fuel silos in Helldivers 2, you must use the Hellbomb stratagem.

You do not need to equip the Hellbomb before beginning the mission. The squad leader will automatically have it equipped when they deploy into the mission.

As with all stratagems, simply enter the necessary button combination to use it and call it in near the fuel silo.

Once the Hellbomb has landed, approach it and activate it by entering the necessary button combination on the terminal.

A countdown will begin, so make sure you get as far away as possible as the Hellbomb will cause a large explosion. Once it detonates, the fuel silo will be destroyed.
