Hogwarts Legacy allows players to create their own wizard or witch and embark on a journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Along the way, you will undoubtedly collect a large amount of gear. Be it clothing or accessories, there is so much stuff to find in Hogwarts Legacy to customise your character. However, like most RPGs, the game sets a limit on how much gear you can carry.

Thankfully, Hogwarts Legacy‘s inventory management system doesn’t require you to look at a number of different stats to decide what is useful and what isn’t. Every item has a single overall rating and three possible bonus ability slots.

If you like the look of an item but want to get rid of it, don’t worry. The look of clothing and accessories can be changed to any previous item while retaining the stat improvements.

However, as you play and accumulate more stuff, you will realise the game limits you to twenty gear items.

How To Store Gear In Hogwarts Legacy

While each player has their own dedicated space within their Hogwarts dormitory, you can’t interact with any of the wardrobes that can be found there. This has caused some confusion about gear storage and if it is possible in the game.

Can you store gear in Hogwarts Legacy? It is not possible to store gear in Hogwarts Legacy. Unwanted items must be destroyed or sold at vendors in Hogsmeade or one of the nearby hamlets.

Thankfully, the appearance of sold/destroyed gear can be still be applied in the menu. This means that even though an item might not be in your possession, you can still use it to complete your outfit.

As a result, deciding what items to scrap or sell comes down to their individual stats. If there is an item you love that has poor stats, you can simply apply its appearance to another, better item.

It is also possible to increase the number of available gear slots in your inventory. All you need to do is complete the Merlin Trials dotted around the grounds of Hogwarts and its nearby villages.
