The internet is a strange place. Some social media users will do anything for clout – and that includes making things up and fooling viewers. And a viral TikTok video has left horror fans questioning what is real and asking “is Untold Netflix horror movie real?”

According to TikTok creator @tmi_7 (also known as MR.MOVIE), ‘Untold’ is “the scariest movie ever made.” Thanks to this bold claim, the video quickly caught the attention of TikTok users and went viral. As of writing, it has amassed a whopping 26.1 million views and 1.8 million likes. But is it really the horror movie to end all horror movies?

On first viewing, the brief TikTok video is certainly convincing enough. It features MR.MOVIE telling viewers about Untold – a supposed terrifying new horror movie – and shows the film’s poster in the background.

The poster – which includes a generic ghostly figure and the tagline “The Horrifying True Story” – suggests the film was released on 7th March 2023. It even provides a website address.

MR.MOVIE goes on to state that 96% of all accounts that watched Untold switched the film off at “exactly nine minutes and forty five seconds”, citing a supposed “Netflix algorithm report”.

Apparently, just 4% of Netflix subscribers who watched the movie stuck with it through to completion.

However, a quick scan of the comments suggests TikTok users can’t actually find Untold on Netflix. This has prompted significant speculation about the horror film, with many questioning whether Untold is real.

Is ‘Untold’ a real horror movie and is it on Netflix?

Is ‘Untold’ Netflix horror movie real? No, ‘Untold’ is not a real horror movie and it isn’t available to watch on Netflix.

In @tmi_7’s TikTok bio, his account is described as a parody account. However, for unsuspecting TikTok users, it’s easy to miss this discrete disclaimer.

The video’s comments show a mix of confusion, frustration, and disappointment. Some even state outright that the film isn’t real:

“Don’t get fooled by his videos. This movie doesn’t even exist”

“WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS LYING”

“Can never find any of the movies you talk about”

“96 percent couldn’t find this movie and the other 4 percent didn’t care!!”

“The story is so untold we are unable to find it”

Observant TikTok viewers may have also noticed the conspicuous lack of any details about the movie’s plot or characters. But now you know that is because the film doesn’t exist and you don’t have to waste your time trying to find it on Netflix or waiting for it to debut in theaters.
