MW3 Zombies: How to enter the Anomaly – Act 4

Anomaly in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies (MWZ)

This guide explains how to enter the Anomaly in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies (MWZ) for the Act 4 mission.

MW3 Zombies, or MWZ, is different from the usual Call of Duty Zombies we’re used to. Instead of just surviving rounds, this game focuses more on missions and finding interesting loot.

In MWZ, the story originally took place over three acts, each with its own levels and missions. To complete them, players had to explore Urzikstan and finish various different tasks to progress.

With the release of Modern Warfare III and Warzone Season 1 came a new mission for Zombies. Bad Signal, the one and only Act 4 mission, involves investigating a strange Anomaly in the Urzikstan exclusion zone before entering the Dark Aether.

While this sounds simple enough, the process of interacting with the Anomaly portal and teleporting into the Dark Aether is confusing some players.

So, let’s go over how to enter the Anomaly in MW3 Zombies for the Act 4 mission.

How to enter the Anomaly in MW3 Zombies (MWZ) – Bad Signal

This is how to enter the Anomaly in Modern Warfare III Zombies: One player in the squad must approach the Anomaly portal and interact with it. This will bring up a vote prompt for other members of the squad. The squad must vote “Yes” to travel to the Dark Aether.

To vote, bring up the map menu (Touchpad on PS5, Menu button on Xbox, or Tab on PC) and vote “Yes” per the button instructions in the top right corner.

When the squad has voted, all players will automatically enter the Anomaly and be transported to the Dark Aether regardless of their proximity to the portal.

Before you do this, be aware that the Dark Aether is an incredibly challenging area. It is full of level II and elite zombies that continuously spawn in hordes while you’re there. The mission culminates in a fight against an Aether Worm that is much stronger than the one fought in Act III.

As a result, I advise you go in fully kitted out with Three-Plate Armor Vests, Self Revives, and at least Level II pack-a-punched weapons. Going as a complete squad of three is also recommended.
