It’s somewhat baffling that boxing games come along so infrequently. With UFC, WWE, and AEW each having modern video games to their names, it’s understandable that boxing fans are craving equal treatment for their beloved combat sport. Thankfully, a new boxing game is here at last – Undisputed – and it’s reportedly coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

It’s anyone’s guess as to why boxing is so often overlooked in the gaming space. With the enduring popularity of fighting games, the sport feels like a natural fit. However, the last big boxing game was the decidedly average Fight Night Champion which was released all the way back in 2011.

That’s why Undisputed is being marketed as the first “major boxing video game in over ten years”. And, on the surface, it appears to answer fans prayers for an authentic boxing experience that looks great and boasts and impressive roster of real-life fighters.

In this article, we will cover everything we know about Undisputed, including its gameplay, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release, fighters, graphics, and more.

What is the new Undisputed boxing game?

Undisputed is a boxing game being developed by indie video game developer Steel City Interactive. It was released in Early Access on Steam on 31st January 2023.

Undisputed is described as an “authentic boxing game” and boasts “revolutionary” footwork mechanics, over 60 individual punches, an adrenaline system, physics-driven interactions, 50 attributes and traits, and much more.

It also uses modern scanning technology to create detailed boxer models, which are capable of “realistic damage, progressive sweat, and facial deformation.”

      Undisputed gameplay and trailers

Undisputed‘s announcement trailer showcases gameplay and features comments from some of boxing’s biggest fighters.

It also details some of the game’s motion capture, graphics, arenas, ring walks, fight introductions, and more.

When will it leave Early Access?

Early Access allows players the opportunity to try out a game and provide feedback to its developers before its full release.

This means that games in Early Access are incomplete and may feature technical issues and other limitations.

Steel City Interactive state that the game is in Early Access “to ensure our vision delivers against player expectations.”

The team provided the following information about Undisputed leaving Early Access via its website: “We will release the full version of Undisputed when we feel it’s ready. That means achieving certain milestones and reaching a level of quality we feel is up to our standards and incorporates feedback from players. With that in mind, it can be tough to predict exactly how long Early Access will last. We plan to add additional content as well as new features along the way, and that will take time.”

Undisputed has received more than 8.4K reviews on Steam. These reviews are summarised as “Overall Positive”. The game’s recent reviews are less kind, giving it an overall summary of “Mixed” based on 480 reviews.

Of course, anyone thinking about purchasing Undisputed should remember that the game is in Early Access and is not complete. That means a lot can change before it is fully released and improvements are likely to be made.

      Is Undisputed boxing game multiplayer?

Yes, Undisputed is a multiplayer game. It features single-player, as well as online PvP (player versus player) and shared/split-screen PvP.

I personally think it’s a joke for a boxing game to take this long to develop, if there using total punch control then it’s going to fail miserabley like fightnight round 4 , fight night champion saved that franchise , the one thing they should never have done is released the game on PC , because nobody t everyone has that sort of access, the longer theyake we the boxing fans wait the less chance that anyone is going to buy it , the reviews I’ve read only state one thing in particular and that’s the graphics , the punches and movement of the fights is said to be tooooo slow , however. This game had better be released by at least late October early November , because it’s taking the piss to expect people to wait this long for what essentially could be a costly mistake by the games developers

There hasn’t been a good boxing match since Fight Night. I’m waiting for Undisputed to finally appear on PS5 and Xbox series consoles.
