Call of Duty has been living in the shadow of the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot over the last two years. But that’s changed with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
After early access for the game’s campaign, players are now jumping into Modern Warfare 2‘s multiplayer mode. And players are curious about the new features and changes they are now seeing for the first time.
With Modern Warfare 2‘s multiplayer, Infinity Ward have introduced some new game modes like Prisoner Rescue and Knockout. But fans are still wanting to play old favourites like Hardcore.
In case you have been living under a rock, Hardcore was introduced in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It offers players a more realistic and testing alternative to regular playlists.
Hardcore features a limited HUD, friendly fire, and drastically reduced time-to-kill. As a result, it is intended to be more skill-based and testing. That said, some in the community feel it is easier than the regular modes. But let’s not get into that!
So, is Hardcore in Modern Warfare 2? If so, let’s go over how to play Hardcore…
Is Hardcore in Modern Warfare 2?
As mentioned, Hardcore debuted way back in CoD 4. And it has features in every Call of Duty game since.
Since its introduction, Hardcore has become a favourite with many players. For some, they prefer it to the regular playlists.
But eagle eyed players will have noticed that it is conspicuously missing from the Modern Warfare 2 menus.
So, is Hardcore in Modern Warfare 2? Hardcore is in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. However, it has been rebranded as “Tier 1”. Tier 1 will feature all the classic features of Hardcore.
How To Play Hardcore/Tier 1 in Modern Warfare 2
OK – so we know Hardcore (or Tier 1 as it’s now called) is in Modern Warfare 2. But that still doesn’t explain why it is missing from the menus.
That still leaves fans scratching their heads and asking how to get stuck into Hardcore.
This is how to play Hardcore/Tier 1 in Modern Warfare 2: Hardcore/Tier 1 is not available at launch on October 28th. It will be added in a future update. Infinity Ward said it “will be available soon.”
So, there we have it. It is currently not possible to player Hardcore/Tier 1 in Modern Warfare 2. But the good news is that it will be – we just aren’t sure exactly when.
Judging from the replies to IW’s tweet, this has left a sour taste in the mouthes of some players who want to play Hardcore at launch. And without a date to go on, it has left them in the lurch.
Nevertheless, Hardcore/Tier 1 will be in Modern Warfare 2‘s multiplayer and it will be coming soon.
