This is the first Helldivers 2 daily Galactic War update (22 February) intended to provide fellow democratic fighters with the latest from the front lines on the fight against the Automatons and the Terminids.

The Galactic War is cruel. Our numbers have now reached the hundreds of thousands as many new Helldivers join the war effort on a daily basis. But the ongoing fight for managed democracy has cost many their lives. Men are leaving their wives as they embrace the opportunity to venture into their Hellpod (PS5) once more, eager to step foot on the battlefield side by side with their brothers in arms. Relationship strife be damned. The fight for capitalism, democracy and freedom does not rest. And nor do we.

I want to give everyone a live, first-hand account of the battlefield, as regularly as I’m able. The horrors of the Galactic War are a lot to bear. But I hope that this message will attract more keen liberty lovers, such as myself, to the front in an effort to protect what they hold dear – as painful as it may be.

The following Galactic War update is correct as of 22 February 2024.

Major Order

Win at least 8 Defend Campaigns against the Automatons – Status: 3/8 37.5%

This week, we received a new Major Order: defend innocent Super Earth populations against cowardly Automaton surprise attacks.

Despite successfully defending 3 planets against the scourge of the Automatons, our efforts to defend all 8 under Super Earth control are being curtailed by a lack of reinforcements. This is the result of newbies deciding to head for the calmer plains of Terminid territory. “Easy kills, easy money, better gear,” the cowards probably think to themselves. But none of that will matter if we fall to the Automatons first.

Allow me to highlight the scale of the problem: as of writing, just over 70,000 freedom adoring men and women are deployed to the frontlines in the West, fighting the Automatons. Meanwhile, 125,000 are off battling the bugs while our citizens and their fellow brave Helldivers are slaughtered by merciless bots in a seemingly unwinnable campaign to curb their advances.

The fight against the Terminids is not entirely pointless, I admit. But I ask that fellow Helldivers put their need for XP and War Medals to the side and focus their efforts on the democratic needs of the galaxy.

This Major Order has another 7 days to go, but things are looking increasingly bleak even if we have made good progress in some areas.

Automaton Front

Currently, there are three active sectors on the Automaton Front.

The first is Xzar – home to the active planets of Mantes and Draupnir. We have liberated 76% of the system in a highly commendable effort by our brave Helldivers. However, Mantes is under heavy attack by the Automatons. Defence efforts there have been good, but we’re yet to pull ahead of the enemy with approximately 20 hours remaining in the campaign.

Mantes in the Xzar system

Over in the Trigon System, liberty is about to suffer a crushing defeat as the Automatons are thwarting our efforts to defend the planet, Vandalon VI. The sector might by 85% liberated, but other planets will soon fall if reinforcements do not arrive and to aid the heroic efforts of a minority of Helldivers currently protecting Vandalon VI. With less than 10 hours to go, failure seems certain.

In the Severin sector, fighting has again erupted on Malevelon Creek as our forces aim to liberate the overrun planet. The battle on Malevelon Creek is fierce and brutal with fellow brothers and sisters sharing harrowing footage of their experiences on the planet. Many are returning shell-shocked as a result of the threat they have faced there.

Still, efforts need to be focussed on defending Mantes and Vandalon VI. Without them, other planets will soon face the same threat and the efforts of brave Helldivers will have been in vain.

Terminid Front

Despite orders to focus on the Atomaton Front, the majority of Helldivers are putting their efforts into fighting on the Terminid front.

Currently, 114,000 are deployed to the Umlaut sector which is seeing good progress as a result. Liberation Campaigns are underway on Turing and Erata Prime. Strong Super Earth efforts on the former have resulted in the planet being 71% liberated, while the latter still has a long way to go with less than 1% progress.

Planet Turing in Terminid territory

Another Liberation Campaign has started on Hellmire, where approximately 8,000 of our troops have liberated less than 1% of the planet.

Finally, in Draco, Crimisca and Estanu have their own Liberation Campaigns with heavy fighting on both planets. Little progress has been made in those battles as of writing.

Summary

If more fighters do not arrive in Trigon, Vandalon VI will fall today. Efforts should be shifted from Crimisca and Estanu in Draco to aid in the fight against the Automatons. However, I fear it is too late.

Prosperity. Liberty. Democracy.

SES Titan of Liberty, signing off.
