Helldivers 2 is taking PS5 and PC gaming by storm. The unexpected smash hit sees players team up in squads of up to four players to take on hordes of aliens and robots threatening the galaxy.

After becoming a viral sensation on social media, lots of gamers are flocking to play Helldivers 2. When you get started, one of the first things you do is pick a name for your ship.

You do this by scrolling through a selection of pre-defined names, which can be combined to make something unique.

However, if you aren’t careful, you may find yourself inadvertently choosing a name you don’t like. Before you know it, you will be onboard your ship with a dumb name plastered on the side of it.

Naturally, your first question will be “how do I change it?”. So, here’s what you need to do…

How to rename your ship in Helldivers 2

To rename your ship in Helldivers 2, you must complete a mission first. This will unlock the Ship Management area. Once you have returned to your ship, go to the Ship Management terminals (pictured below).

This will open the Ship Management menus. Go to the “Destroyer” tab and change your name, as indicated on the right side of the screen.

As before, you will then be able to select from the list of pre-defined names. You can combine these however you like to make a name that is unique to you.

Once you have renamed your ship, its new name will appear on its exterior and will be visible for all to see.
