Helldivers 2: How to complete Terminid Control System mission

Terminid Control System mission in Helldivers 2

This Helldivers 2 guide explains how to complete the Terminid Control System mission including how to activate Battery Silos and how to initiate Termicide dispersal.

Helldivers 2 is well into its second month and more fighters are joining the Galactic War effort by the day. With operations to defend Super Earth continuing, the Umlaut sector has become the main line of defence between Humanity and the Terminids.

The current Major Order instructs Helldivers to activate the Terminid Control System on Barrier Planets in the Umlaut system. The aim here is to quarantine the Terminid threat and to stop them from progressing further.

There are four planets with active Terminid Control System missions: Erata Prime, Fenrir III, Meridia, and Turing. Each one is marked with a skull icon and is designated a “High-Priority Campaign”.

Each Operation on these planets contains a Terminid Control System mission, which you can spot by the icon which looks like a large satellite dish. However, this is an all-new mission type, so some players are finding themselves confused at what to do.

So, let’s take a step-by-step look at how to complete Terminid Control System missions in Helldivers 2.

How to complete Terminid Control System missions in Helldivers 2

These missions are made up of three objectives. First, players must activate the terminal at the base of the Central Tower. Second, they must activate three Battery Silos to power the Termicide Tower. And lastly, they must initiate Termicide dispersal before extracting.

How to activate the terminal at base of Central Tower

The first objective is simple. To make things as easy as possible, land in on the Central Tower and immediately look for the terminal on the north side of the tower. It has a bright, glowing blue button and a red “Stop” sign above it, as pictured below.

Once you’ve found it, simply interact with it to begin the next phase of the mission.

How to activate Battery Silos

The next step is to activate the three Battery Silos which are located around the periphery of the site.

To find them, open the map and look for the battery symbols with a lightning bolt in the middle. On approach, you will notice that they look like large towers and have numbers denoting which silo they are. It doesn’t matter which order you complete them in.

To activate them, look for the nearby control terminal (it looks the same as the first one) and interact with it. Once active, the Battery Silo needs to be defended while it powers up to 100%. Terminids will immediately begin to spawn near active silos and attack them.

There are three stages of damage that the silos go through: Stable, Unstable, and Critically Unstable. If it is damaged beyond Critically Unstable, the Battery Silo will power off and will need to be restarted.

Splitting up here is advised as it forces the Terminid forces to splinter, making each silo easier to defend. Be advised, this part of the mission is extremely hard at higher difficulties.

How to initiate Termicide dispersal

The third and final objective is to start the Termicide dispersal. However, it’s somewhat unclear on how to do it and where to go.

To initiate the Termicide dispersal, simply proceed to the extraction point and interact with the terminal which is facing the Control Tower. Enter the button inputs correctly and the Terminid Control System will engage, completing the mission.

With the Termicide dispersal complete, you will now be able to extract.
