Call of Duty Zombies has always been full of cool Easter Eggs. Now, one MW3 Zombies players has discovered what happens when the mode’s exfil chopper meets the almighty Mega Abomination.
MW3 Zombies (MWZ) is a major departure from the established CoD Zombies formula. It is no longer round-based, instead taking place in the open-world of Urzikstan.
The aim of the game is to exfiltrate via chopper after completing missions and securing as much valuable loot as possible.
As such, the map is split into three zones – low-tier (grey), mid-tier (orange), and high-tier (red). The higher tiers reward better loot, but the enemies are more challenging.
The red zone also includes an elite zombie known as the Mega Abomination. This three-headed beast presents a formidable challenge, boasting immense strength and ample health.
For this reason, players are forced to approach the Mega Abomination with caution. It is also flanked by hordes of the undead.
To make things easier, players can lure the Mega Abomination out of the red zone. This is tricky and doesn’t always work. Usually, the creature will simply return to the high-tier area.
However, it is possible. And if you can make it all the way to an extraction point, you may be able to use the inbound exfil chopper to your advantage.
Reddit user and MW3 Zombies player u/cochese788 recently shared a clip of their squad luring the Mega Abomination under the exfil chopper.
Just as the Mega Abomination fires its powerful Aetherium beams, the exfil chopper begins to touch down. During its descent, the chopper crushes the Mega Abomination and causes it to explode in a gruesome popping animation.
The creature is killed instantly and its loot appears on the ground for the players to collect. Alongside the clip, u/cochese788 simply wrote “We lured a Mega Abomination from T3 all the way to the T1 beach. This was the result.”
Unsurprisingly, other Zombies players were thrilled by the discovery. u/KYlaker233 said “Wow! Impressive! I’ve tried to lure him that far, but he always turns and goes back to tier 3.”
Similarly, u/thisonehereone commented “What a fun moment to have in game!” u/ThatHydroCouple felt that players deserve a special reward for squishing the Mega Abomination: “Should be a trophy or calling card for that”, they said.
We’re off to Urzikstan to try this for ourselves now!
