Helldivers 2 might be the game of the moment, but it isn’t without its problems – mainly in the form of bugs and glitches. While server capacity continues to be the principle issue, players are experiencing less severe inconveniences that are impacting their experience with the game, like the new loadout reset glitch.
After numerous play sessions this week, Downtime Bros can report that a novel Helldivers 2 loadout bug is causing players’ equipment and gear to be completely reset when they restart the game.
Other players are taking to social media to report their own experience with the loadout reset glitch.
On X, user @rich8606 asked: “Anybody else keep getting their loadout and voice reset to default after the last update?”
In response, @NachKingLLN said: “I am. My loadout, voice, emote, pose. All of it keeps resetting. Also every time I load into the game it prompts all the tips as if it’s my first game.”
@BobbyKiller21 also reported experiencing the issue. “Everytime i close my game and re-open, my stats and weapon class reset,” they said.
While it’s far from gamebreaking, the issue is causing players significant problems when they drop into their first game only to realise that they’re running the default loadout.
At lower difficulties, this isn’t a problem. However, if players are jumping straight into Extreme difficulty or higher, then there’s a strong chance they will face a steep uphill battle without the optimal gear.
The issue is also affecting selected emotes and character voices, causing them to rest to default.
The loadout reset glitch appeared after the latest Helldivers 2 update dropped on 12 March. The bug was not included in the list of known issues in the patch notes.
