Amnesia: The Bunker is the next game in the Amnesia survival horror series. It takes place during World War I. Players control French soldier Henri Clement, who is stuck inside an underground bunker and being pursued by a dangerous and mysterious creature. The game is set for release on 6th June 2023 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. But why isn’t Amnesia: The Bunker on PS5?

It is fairly unusual for games in 2023 to be released on Xbox Series X|S and not PS5 but still receive a PS4 release. Similarly, fans may be concerned that The Bunker will be missing key features and obvious current-gen benefits by skipping PS5.

Why isn’t Amnesia: The Bunker on PS5?

No official reason has been given for the lack of a native PS5 version of Amnesia: The Bunker. However, Amnesia: The Bunker is playable on PS5 via backwards compatibility using the PS4 version of the game.

Because there is no native PS5 version of The Bunker, the game does not include any DualSense controller features such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Similarly, the game will also forgo the obvious performance and graphical benefits provided by a PS5 version.

With that being said, there are still plenty of reasons to check out the PS4 version of The Bunker. If played via backwards compatibility, it will still benefit from overall faster loading times.

Likewise, the game is receiving positive reviews and looks to be worthwhile experience for survival horror fans.

When players awake as Henri Clement inside the bunker, they must contend with a photosensitive creature called the Beast. While the Beast stays away when light is present, as soon as the facility is plunged into darkness, it relentlessly pursues you.

Players must keep the bunker’s generator fuelled and scavenge for resources in order to survive the experience. Of course, you must also piece together your memories and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic underground complex.
